Join Jubilate Vocal Ensemble for
Bright Horizons featuring Fauré’s Requiem,
strings, organ and soloists
Today’s political climate wearing you out? JVE’s spring concert, Bright Horizons, can provide welcome relief. Featuring choir, soloists, strings, organ and additional instruments, Bright Horizons promises to be a spectacular concert, with a programme featuring Gabriel Fauré’s famous and gorgeous Requiem, as well as three works by local Canadian arrangers. You will be serenaded in a variety of styles, from Dan Forrest’s beautiful Ubi caritas to a sizzling choral rendition of Viva la Vida, and from the lush harmonies of Elaine Hagenberg to a stirring arrangement of the pop-rock band Fun’s Some Nights. This is a hopeful and uplifting concert to stir your spirit and soul – or provide a fun night out for Mom on this Mother’s Day weekend.
Not to be missed! There is only one concert time, so early ticket purchases are recommended.
Bright Horizons takes place on Saturday, May 10 at 7:30 p.m. at Pacific Spirit United Church, 2195 West 45th Ave. in Kerrisdale. Tickets are available online from www.eventbrite.ca or at the door. Most credit and debit cards are accepted.

JVE’s winter concert Comfort and Joy to feature string quartet, soloists and carol singalongs
Saturday, December 14 at 7:30 p.m.
Sunday, December 15 at 2:30 p.m.
Both at St. James Community Square (West 10th and Trutch) in Kitsilano
Jubilate Vocal Ensemble is excited to announce our winter 2024 concert! Comfort and Joy will feature rich traditional music and creative arrangements from composers past and present. The classic Magnificat, written by Francesco Durante in 1720, is a lively and moving baroque tribute to the Christmas season, while a jazzy arrangement of Handel’s Hallelujah Chorus infuses a longstanding Christmas favourite with gospel flair. We’ll also be performing a richly textured nativity-themed composition by our Music Director John R. Williams – Night of Wonder – with talented guest tenor soloist Sam Chung.
Comfort and Joy will also include some popular carols as well as singalongs of traditional favourites. Owing to last year’s sell-out, we are offering two performances this year: Saturday, December 14 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, December 15 at 2:30 p.m. – both at St. James Community Square (West 10th and Trutch) in Kitsilano. Save these dates – you do not want to miss this!
We urge pre-booking to avoid disappointment. Tickets are available online from www.eventbrite.ca or at the door. Most credit and debit cards are now accepted.
