Auditions for the 2022/2023 season are now open and we are seeking choristers in the vocal ranges of: Tenor, Bass.  Auditions are currently underway so please use the form below to schedule a time with Dr. Elizabeth MacIsaac.

We are always looking for choristers to join us and auditions occur on an ongoing basis.  Ideal candidates would have a solid background in ensemble vocal music, music theory knowledge,  an ability to sight-read and a desire to make music and have fun! We are a mixed-voice, auditioned chamber choir, with singers ranging from trained to seasoned amateurs. Our repertoire spans early music through to contemporary, and we premiere new Canadian choral works at all of our concerts.

Jubilate rehearses on Monday nights from 7:30-9:30 pm on the south-west side of Vancouver (Kerrisdale).  We generally perform three Saturday evening concerts a season, with a dress rehearsal on the Friday evening before. Our concert dates for the 2022/2023 season so far are December 17th, and May 6th. Our fees currently are $400 with lower rates available for students.

We know the audition process can cause anxiety but fear not – auditions are an informal way to get to know you and your voice. Don’t worry about being perfect.

Auditions will consist of:

  1. A preliminary phone conversation with Choral Director Dr. Elizabeth MacIsaac where you will discuss your musical training and experience
  2. A 30 minute in person audition with Dr. MacIsaac where singers will be asked to do basic vocalization (O Canada/Silent Night) and range testing with piano accompaniment. In addition singers will be led through vocal exercises, ear memory tests, sight-reading and a cappella exercises.

Please contact Elizabeth here if you would like more information or would like to schedule an audition:
