JVE to give two performances of
Christmas Reverie, Dec. 12 and 13
Christmas Reverie forms both the title and theme of JVE’s 2026 Christmas concert. The song is by internationally recognized BC composer Don Macdonald, whose music spans choral, film, theatre, dance, rock, jazz, world and folk tradition. It deals with hearing a busker on a street corner, reliving memories of Christmases past, and being grateful that songs can connect us to such memories. It includes snippets of God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen and O Holy Night.
Familiar pieces like Ding Dong! Merrily on High, O Come, O Come, Emmanuel and Go Tell It on the Mountain are also part of the program, and we think you’ll enjoy hearing them in new, distinctive arrangements. With its exciting variety of new and traditional styles, and featuring composers from Canada and around the world, Christmas Reverie promises to be a memorable celebration of the Christmas season. We hope you’ll mark your calendars to join us on Dec. 12 or 13.
